Asia Pacific Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (APN+) is seeking a woman to coordinate the activities of its women working group (WAPN+) in the Asia Pacific Region. Based in Bangkok this challenging post will involve working with a dedicated team of women living with HIV in the region and APN+ secretariat and its team. A willingness and proven commitment to working for women living with HIV and people living with and affected by HIV in general is essential for a successful candidate.
Reporting to APN+ Regional Coordinator
APN+, a registered foundation in Thailand has a policy of employing whenever possible persons living with HIV.
- Experience in working with NGO’s and community based organizations in Asia and the Pacific region especially with women living with HIV/AIDS on HIV and treatment related issues, stigma, human rights and advocacy are essential;
- Computer literate, especially MS Word, Excel and other web tools or programs;
- Able to communicate effectively in English, excellent written English;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Self-motivated, well organized, hard-working and able to function under pressure and handle numerous projects simultaneously;
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team;
- Knowledge of an additional Asian language would be beneficial.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible to collate and distribute all WAPN+ related documents to other women living with HIV/AIDS in the region and WAPN+ core group members;
- Prepare and ensure mid and final report are submitted and distributed to APN+ Regional Coordinator, WAPN+ core group members and donor agency in timely manner;
- Coordinate and assist WAPN+ members in all projects and WAPN+ related activities;
- Plan, coordinate and implement all WAPN+ project activities.
Arrange meeting logistics, hotel bookings and travel arrangements for meetings as required; - Provide support to APN+ finance person in reimbursement and related logistics assist with project budgeting and reconciliation;
- Maintain all WAPN+ related files and documents in easily accessible manner;
- Organize teleconferences and meetings for WAPN+ committee members when necessary;
- Respond to queries from other people living with HIV/AIDS groups, donor agencies and stakeholders with support from the regional coordinator of APN+ and WAPN+ core group members;
- Ensure effective communication between WAPN+ core group members and APN+ secretariat office and other country members who are involved in WAPN+ activities;
- Document meetings and teleconferences as required;
- Identify and recruit country team members and consultants who are involved in WAPN+ activities;
- Ensure WAPN+ related information is updated in the APN+ website;
- Seek and identify additional funding support and develop proposals for WAPN+.
