Dear colleagues and partners,
After almost three years of successfully leading Asia Catalyst as Executive Director, Charmain Mohamed is to move on next year. During her time at the helm, Charmain has hugely expanded Asia Catalyst’s Asia regional presence. She oversaw the opening of Asia Catalyst’s Thailand office and Thai foundation registration, directed the launch of several new programs, and forged vital relationships with new donors and partners.
As Asia Catalyst’s first Executive Director in-post following the departure of our founding ED in 2013, Charmain had huge shoes to fill. We are proud to report that she filled them and then some. We will miss her leadership—and her incredible taste in afternoon teas—and we wish her nothing but the best as she returns home to be with family in London. It goes without saying that Charmain’s strong vision and expert grasp of human rights law and advocacy has laid the groundwork for Asia Catalyst success for many years to come.
Looking to 2016, Asia Catalyst is in a great position to continue growing our impact in and around Asia. Our board and staff remain committed to building stronger civil society and advancing the right to health for marginalized people in the region. With that goal in mind, we will make this transition as seamless as possible.
We look forward to announcing our soon-to-be-esteemed new Executive Director in 2016. If you know someone who would be a good fit for this post, please pass on the full job description, here. Thank you and many happy holidays!
Yours sincerely,
Yvonne Y F Chan
Chair and Treasurer, Asia Catalyst Board of Directors
